Walt Disney Animation Studios is most well-known for its animated movies. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was their first picture, released in 1937, and they have continued to make high-quality films ever since. I’m a big Disney fan who goes to the movies every week to see what’s new. Nevertheless, nothing beats the classics, in my perspective. It’s difficult to choose which of animated Disney movies is the finest when looking back at their impressive filmography. I did, however, manage to produce a list of top 10 Disney animated movies.
While it may be claimed that Robin Williams’ absolute originality as the Genie was the only reason this picture was so brilliant, no argument will ever persuade me to remove this animated film from the top of my list. Aladdin, one of the top Disney movies, is more than a jewel in the rough, with magic, combat, and a rags-to-riches main character. Aladdin has one of the best Disney soundtracks, with songs by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a tune catchier than Friend Like Me, even if Williams improvises most of it.
The Lion King
The Lion King is the best Disney movies animated in past years. It rapidly became a classic, and most fans consider it their top choice. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film gained a high average score of 8.2/10 and an overall rating of 90% from critics. Everyone should watch The Lion King at least once in their lives. It contains everything you might expect from a Disney movie, including appealing animal characters, complex ideas, and a famous soundtrack composed by Elton John and Tim Rice.
Coco, a more contemporary Disney/Pixar collaboration, is a stunning and moving celebration of life and legacy that will take your breath away. It’s not just a culturally conscious film that uses Spanish in its speech, but it also has a somewhat serious story woven into it, reminiscent of classic Disney tragedies like The Lion King. As is customary, this film has some fantastic motion capture technology as well as some excellent original songs that are far too popular for their own good. It is one of the new Disney movies you should watch.
Frozen is a contemporary Disney adventure with an emotional tale and a cast of unforgettable characters. The film is very stunning and one of the popular Disney movies. It’s a film that both young and elderly will enjoy. On Rotten Tomatoes, the picture scored a fantastic 7.7/10 average and an overall rating of 89 percent from critics. This is Disney’s best animated feature, combining humour, plot, and thrill. Disney hasn’t done anything like this in a long time, though Tangled is close behind.
Beauty and the Beast
The film Beauty and the Beast has become an instant classic. It has an unforgettable heartfelt story. The entire picture, as well as the tale and characters, is amazing. It’s the ideal film to help you get into the Christmas spirit. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film garnered an 8.4/10 rating and a 93 percent overall rating from critics. It is undoubtedly one of the best Disney movies to watch.
Hercules was one of my first introductions to Greek mythology, and he is the sole reason I am familiar with so many Greek gods. The music alone makes this picture worth seeing, with musicians like Michael Bolton and Destiny’s Child on the soundtrack. It follows the same zero-to-hero plot as many of the other famous Disney films on this list, but it grafts that plot onto one about Greek heroes, giving it a distinct flavor.
“Why is Tangled on this list if Frozen isn’t?” you might be wondering. The answer is straightforward: Tangled is a superior film versus Frozen. It may not have achieved the same level of popularity or included the same memorable songs, but it is a far more unique film. The film, like Mulan, shows a princess who does not need to rely on others to save her. Furthermore, the prince who does arrive to save her is actually a criminal whom she saves instead.
The Jungle Book
The Jungle Book is an animated musical masterpiece. It contains action, good characters, and a terrifying villain. On Rotten Tomatoes, it garnered an above-average score of 7.3/10 and an aggregate rating of 85 percent from critics. The Jungle Book will not disappoint animal lovers and the entire family in terms of delighting audiences of all ages.
Along with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella is the most well-known princess story. The tale is entertaining, the characters are endearing, and the film is a timeless masterpiece that has captivated audiences worldwide. On Rotten Tomatoes, it garnered a 7.7/10 average rating and a 97 percent overall rating from reviewers. This is the type of movie that the whole family can enjoy from beginning to end.
Tarzan is another classic tale portrayed through beautiful animation and powered by Phil Collins’ wonderful score. This film features everything a good Disney film should have: action, talking animals, conflict, and a heartwarming tale. Plus, the soundtrack was so wonderful that I bought the CD, which I still play now and then. The Tarzan franchise has deteriorated since the first film, yet that does not impact its ranking.
